Two of my favorite things

Last weekend I got to go camping down in Moab. That is one of my favorite things- I really really love to be outside. And southern Utah, I don't think there is any place like it in the world. We met people from all over Europe while we were there. It was fun talking to them, until Ted starting babbling on about hollandaise sauce and eggs benedict. The second favorite thing is having good friends. I've always had lots of friends, but few that are those good friends that you can count on to be friends with for the rest of your life. Brittny was a mission companion and her husband is Zane, and they are really two of my favorite people. I have gone up to Logan to hang out with them, and we try to get together whenever they are in town. I just really like them for many reasons. So, I'm glad we're friends. And I made new friends too, which is always fun. After searching for what felt like hours for a camping spot, we finally settled down about 7 miles off the main road along the river. We really got a good spot- thanks to Zane for being patient with three girls in the car all telling him where to go. Poor guy. We spent the next couple of days in Arches and Canyonlands and had SO much fun. We also ate some really good food, thanks to Brittny. A natural with dutch oven cooking. So yummy... I had a really good time, and I'm so glad that we got to go.

I have always loved the song "Heavenly Father Loves Me." It's a primary song, and I like it for many reasons. One, my dad used to sing it to us when we were little to get us to sleep. Two, I love how a simple primary song expresses exactly how I feel when I am out in the "beautiful world heavenly father created for me." Standing there looking at the great expanse that is Arches, or Canyonlands, makes me feel very small. It's incredible, and I am grateful Heavenly Father made this world so beautiful. I think he did that just for us- to make life on earth more enjoyable, and to remind us of how much he loves us.
